Just for Men
Barbecue Spirituality:
SINNERS AND SAINTS
Thursday, May 22, 2015;
6:00pm to 8:00pm

It may be comforting or troubling to discover that many of those whom we think of as heroes of our faith are also self-centered sinners. When Pope Francis was asked:”Who is Jorge Mario Bergoglio?” He responded: “I don’t know what might be the most fitting description…I am a sinner. This is the most accurate description.” On one hand, St. Paul addressed the members of the church as saints, but on the other hand, are we not all sinners? As examples of the sinner-saints we will look at King David, our Patriarch Abraham, Jonah, Peter the Apostle, and the “Dynamite King”. Presenter: Father Ed Schleter is a priest of the Diocese of Toledo. He currently serves as a chaplain for the Sisters of Mercy at St. Bernardine Home in Fremont and as chaplain for St. Mary Parish in Clyde. Father grew up between Tiffin and Republic and has a strong interest in making the Scriptures come alive for today’s people.
